Center for Honeybee Research

We believe in the power of partnerships, creativity, and storytelling to save, honor, and restore our planet.

The Center for Honeybee Research is a grassroots, educational, research organization founded to collect objective data in an open-sourced, non-proprietary platform for the benefit of researchers, beekeepers, and policy makers — to ensure the survival of the honeybee.

This is necessary because honeybee colonies are failing to survive winter as never before in their 50 million year history.

Center for Honeybee Research exists to provide unbiased data straight from the hives of beekeepers all over the world, freely available to the public. We are taking the lead in systematically collecting scientific data to give us answers to the pressing issues plaguing the honeybee.

Help Asheville Bears (HAB)

An organization that hopes to elevate compassion and knowledge to help humans coexist with black bears and other wildlife in our region.”

Help Asheville Bears’ purpose is the promote the preservation, protection, and conservation of black bears and other wildlife.

Asheville FM

“We keep Asheville thriving by producing diverse and eclectic programming that inspires our listeners to build connections across our communities and to discover new music and ideas.”

Asheville FM is nonprofit, volunteer-driven, community radio. Programming includes community-focused news and talk radio both in English and in Spanish, as well as the most eclectic freeform mix of music you will find in Western North Carolina.

Asheville FM is more than just a radio station. We’re a nonprofit with the mission to impact our community in positive ways. Our services include youth & community podcasting bootcamps and a live performance studio to feature local musicians and touring bands. We partner with other organizations to bring attention to local events, artists, activists, marginalized communities, and other nonprofits.

Asheville FM is committed to uplifting underrepresented voices in our region and beyond. We are working to serve individuals and communities including immigrants, LGBTQ+, people of color, women, and young people through social justice programs, community outreach, and news and community affairs. Our organization has partnerships with over seventy nonprofits to uplift their diverse missions and facilitate awareness for the needs of marginalized groups in North Carolina.

Buzz Radio Asheville

Buzz Radio Asheville is Asheville’s Official Local Music and Comedy Scene Station.

Buzz Radio Asheville was born out of the desire to help promote and support local musicians and comics during Covid. From there it has grown far beyond what most people believed that an “All Local, All Styles, Music and Comedy Station” could accomplish. While the station is supported by commercial advertising, the station turns that support right around and gives support right back into the community through various promotional and sponsorship arrangements with local Non-Profit Organizations.

Buzz Radio Asheville also wanted to be involved with this Festival because Owners Matt Mittan and Michele Scheve are passionate animal advocates and also Co-Host an Outdoors-themed travel show called “Matt & Michele Outdoors”. In that program they encourage enjoyment of the outdoors, balanced with responsible stewardship and advocacy for habitat preservation and healthy coexistence with the wonderful wildlife of our mountains.

Both Matt & Michele believe that we are best able to reach our full potential as people when we soak ourselves in nature and that our peaceful relationship to protect and preserve wildlife also unlocks the best chance at happy coexistence for humanity as well.
