About Our Work

Why we do what we do

At the core of our mission is creating awareness–knowledge helps create positive change! Our goal is to start at a grassroots level, touching one person at a time with important information about conservation efforts, ways to discuss issues within their own communities, and how they can put their energy into advocating for wild habitats.

Ultimately, saving species also means saving ourselves; these things are interconnected as much as we are all connected. We must care for each other without fail so that our planet can thrive for generations to come.

01Our Mission + Vision

To create entertaining and educational spaces–festivals, events, art projects–that help elevate the public’s esteem for, and knowledge of, wildlife and habitat conservation.

Educating and activating while people are having fun is our mission, and it works!

Stay tuned for more events.

02Bears + Bees

How can we help different species adapt to the changing climate? Bears and bees are great representative species of the many beings, large and small, that need support from us in order to survive.

At a local level, we aim to educate the public on steps to coexist with both bears and bees, so that we can all adapt, together.

Support our efforts!

03Wildlife Corridors

Drivers in WNC have all seen dead bear, deer, fox, and other wildlife on our roadways. In 2018, Elk crossing the highway from Cataloochee were struck and killed as well. Not only is this tragic for the wildlife, but such collisions injure and kill drivers and passengers as well. Wildlife corridors have proven to reduce wildlife-related automotive collisions and deaths — it is time to spread these corridors across the country, starting in WNC.
