Our Collaborators

Meet the Team

Our collaborators are unified in their unstoppable desire to improve the world for generations to come.

Roni Hidalgo

Festival Creator | Director

For more than 20 years, Roni has been putting to use her creative talent in digital media, graphic design, video production, and event production, for the greater good. Her many accomplishments include championing conservation by launching her own media outlet, EarthGirlz; raising consciousness for bees through a gourmet food and film experience, and spearheading a global community day across 25 Latin American cities.

A self-starter and go-getter, Roni’s enthusiasm and resourcefulness galvanize people to act for the betterment of society. She’s doing it again with Bears Bees + Brews.

Holly Fisher

Media + Marketing

Holly Fisher is the owner of Fisher Creative Marketing and a StoryBrand Certified Guide. She’s helped dozens of organizations clarify their marketing message and develop an effective sales funnel that generates more leads and boosts their bottom line. A long-time professional writer and former full-time journalist, Holly believes in the power of story to inform and engage. After moving with her husband and daughter to Asheville in 2021, Holly was quickly enamored with all the wildlife (especially the bears!). She’s eager to help promote conservation and coexistence with our wildlife. In her free time, Holly enjoys doing CrossFit, hiking and reading.

Dr. Terri Lechner

Event + Fundraising Coordinator

Dr. Terri Lechner is the director of community outreach and board member for The Center for Honeybee Research. An experienced beekeeper, she has a deep respect and understanding of the honeybee and a love of all pollinators. For the last five years she has helped raise awareness of the insect apocalypse, and how their decline negatively affects our planet’s much needed biodiversity.

Driven by her passion and commitment to creating a healthier world–one where we can coexist with all creatures–she is once again joining forces with Bears Bees + Brews to help educate and inspire our community.

Catherine Mencher

Event + Fundraising Coordinator

Catherine Mencher’s career began as a second grade teacher on the Navajo Nation, learning of uranium mining’s impact and driving past riverbeds rerouted to Las Vegas. She is a non-profit “Jill of all trades” for College Track, an organization equipping students confronting systemic barriers to earn a bachelor’s degree in pursuit of a life of opportunity, choice, and power, and formerly for Green Windows, a creative writing nonprofit.

Since moving to Asheville in 2019, she has been itching to lend her skillset in service of the WNC community and wildlife.  She enjoys killing grass in her South Slope yard, creative writing and bopping around town with her 2 and 4 year old.
